Our camogie team won the Division 1 Camogie title on Tuesday last defeating Ballon. The girls played superbly and were on top all the way through. However it took a long time to get our first score with the Ballon goalkeeper making some great saves. Shauna O’Neill finally got our first point and followed that with a goal shortly after. Eve Sinnott they kicked a great point having lost her hurl. The score at half time was 1-2 to 0-0. We had a great start to the second half and scored a couple of goals quickly. This took the pressure off and we managed to score another few goals and points before the end of the game. We had a large of panel of 26 girls from 5th and 6th class and all the girls got to play at least some part in the final . Most of the girls are playing with the camogie club in town and are making great progress. This is the first time the school has won the camogie competition having lost the final last year. Congratulations to all the girls and we hope our fourth class girls can be as successful next year.
