As a school we remembered Nano Nagle and the Presentation sisters on Presentation day. Both our sacrament classes, second and sixth, attended mass in the convent chapel alongside the sisters of Bagenalstown Presentation order. Fr. Declan Thompson also gave a blessing to all the school communuity over the intercom for those who could not make the mass. We thank Nano Nagle for the gift of education she offered in her lifetime and the Presentation sisters for all their work in educating the people of our parish.
A massive THANK YOU to all people who donated a Shoe Box for the annual collection. A total of 187 were collected by Heart to Hand charity for delivery to Albania in the coming weeks. We are privileged to provide some Christmas cheer to others less well off than us and wish them every blessing as they open the gifts.
Our school has been privileged to take part in the annual shoe box appeal. Families and members of the local community are asked to create a shoe box full of small items as a present that will be delivered free of charge by the Heart to Hand (http://www.hearttohand.net/) charity to children in Albania. The school community have bought into this idea greatly for the last 10 years and we love seeing the pile of shoe boxes grow outside the office.
As you can see in the picture, you have a large number so far with a few more days collecting to go. We thank all those who have donated a shoe box and wish those receiving the presents a happy and joyful Christmas.
