Our school as you know takes part and greatly enjoys the Music Generation program. We have in the past learned the tin whistle and have always participated in the choral program. Over the past few years we have performed at Christmas carol services, concerts with other schools in Borris and St. andrew’s church and sang the responsorial psalm at Confirmation. Classes have also composed their own songs which you can access elsewhere on the site.
As part of the review process, Paula Phelan of Music Generation Carlow has asked parents to complete a short survey. See below the email received from Paula and the survey link.
My name is Paula Phelan and I’m the manager of Music Generation Carlow. I am writing to ask for your help in forming our next 5 year strategic plan. Below is a link to a simple 8 question survey that should take 7/8 minutes to complete. I would really appreciate it if you could complete the survey so I can make sure the voice of the parent/guardian is kept to the forefront of the planning process,

Many thanks to the Parent’s Council who recently organised an internet safety talk for pupils from 2nd to 6th. As part of the visit from Zeeko, pupils were asked to complete an anonymous survey on their internet usage. The report is available to view here.
Queen of the Universe Internet Use survey
Talks were given to teachers during Croke Park hours and parents in the evening. While the internet is a valuable tool used daily in all our lives, there are dangers associated with it’s use. It is important that we all understand the risks and play our part to minimise these.
Happy St. Patrick’s day to all. Well done to the students and teachers for their work on the school radio this week and their lovely art work on display around the school.
Big week this week as we prepare for Confirmation on Saturday. Ms. O’Neill and her sixth class have been working very hard preparing for the sacrament and we can look forward to seeing some of their beautiful artwork and hearing them sing the psalm at the ceremony. Before that we have the ceremony of light on Thursday and a chance for sponsors to have a practice ahead of Saturday.
Congratulations to the girls from our school who competed in the Credit Union Chapter level quiz in the Springhill Hotel Kilkenny on Sunday last. The questions were tough but the girls represented the school with pride. Winning a couple of spot prize book tokens was a nice bonus.
