Drama workshop

Fourth, fifth and sixth classes took part in drama workshops focusing on the topic of bullying on Monday. These will continue for the next three weeks.

Drama gives a safe space for children to explore the topic of bullying and its implications while also having fun working in small groups.

Shoebox Appeal

A huge thank you to all who donated shoe boxes to the Heart to Hand charity.  We have  collected 172 so far in the school which is great. We are delighted to think to all the happy children who will receive a present at Christmas. If anybody has a shoe box or would still like to contribute we can take them in the school and arrange a further collection.

Debating competition

Congratulations to the two teams from our school who took part in debating competitions against Gaelscoil Chill Chainnigh and Educate Together Carlow. This competition gives the girls a chance to showcase their oral language and develop public speaking skills while representing our school. Both teams were a credit to themselves and the school and we look forward to competing further later in the year.

Science Week.

A number of classes went on an observation field trip around the school for science week. Teachers will also be undertaking CPD on hand on science activities this week. As a school we are working towards an award of excellence in STEM education.
